tj flares, mount questions
hey guys, I have an opportunity to get some tj flares for 50$, I don't wanna run flareless and with the 2" lift and 31's needless to say things are a bit tight, and I'm thinking I'll pick these up, trim and install them, so heres my reasoning for this post, I'm looking for some info on how some of you have installed these, or just a decent link with more info on how they mount, I'm pretty read up on trimming how to's and am pretty confident I can figure that out, but I just havnt found good info on how the tj flares have been mounted to the fender....pretty much any tips, advice, tricks, or info on that aspect of things is welcomed! Also any pics you wanna toss up also benefit me at this point, as I'm sure some are mounted at slightly different heights ect..BTW I have a 4 door...and I'm sure that's where most of the issues will show themselves.
thanks!
thanks!

I've already got my TJ flares, but haven't put them on yet. I think the front flares are pretty self explanatory. Here is a link on how to do the rears.

It's very well documented.

thanks for that link, helps put it more into perspective for me, I'd still like to see more articles or get more info, I'm sure there's 1000 ways of doing this as there are with most mods lol, and instead of using 2 sets of rears, I wanna go with the full set, I saw a few pics of them and It stuck with me.
I would like to use some bolts or some other hardware at this point also, instead of the fore mentioned tape, and would like to see a bit more on that part as well, I figure I'll do it once, the right way lol.

I have TJ fronts on my front fenders. I lined up the top of the flare with the body line on the fender, got it where I wanted it, then used a marker to trace the inside of the flare on the fender. They have a goofy curve to them, just take your time. Then I put a cut-off wheel on my grinder and trimmed it on the marker line. Make sure to put masking tape on the line that you are cutting off or the paint might flake off on the cut line.
Put the flare into position, take the marker and mark through the mounting holes of the flare. Then drill the holes and bolt them up.
Use as big of a washer as you can on the flare side. Use touch-up paint on the bare edge to prevent rust. Also use a file to debur the edge.
Kinda long winded, but I hope it helps.

got the flares today, they're missing the lenses on the fronts, oh well, but on a higher note, no one mentions actually how big they are compared to stock xj flares...they really are quite long/wide....looks like I have a sat. Project now, I'll try to remember to take pics of this so maybe someone else can benefit down the road! It's nice to have good tagged threads with good info for searching purposes

I have tj flares. I use 2sided 3m molding tape like what has held the molding on for ever. had no problems. I did the same as in pics above except I trimmed the flares to fit at the top of the molding line. I think it looks a little better. I will try to post some pics tonight or tomorrow.
