Default tire sizes

Just curious to know what others thoughts are on tire sizes..... according to the tag in the door, my jeep came w/ 215/55 15's. And, according to my VIN lookup through Jeep, it came w/ 235/55's. Well, when I bought the jeep, it has 235/55 17's; on Jaguar XK8 wheels. Would that be the correct size for the jeep?

225/75/15 or 215/75/15 is factory depending on trim package.

Most people will run 235/75/15s on stock suspension though.

Ok... got that. So, for 17s, what would be an ideal size? I have been trying to find a plus 2 chart for tire sizing but haven't had any luck. Would the 235/55's that are already unit be ideal?

235/75R15 (about 29" diameter) is a nice fit, 30x9.5R15 is the largest that can fit without lifting or trimming and may rub.

So a 235/65 17 should net me the same result as the 235/75 15?
