tire mounting alternatives
I'm looking for an alternative to the side mount cuz its sagging my left leaf Pack. Any cheap ideas? Will a tj tire carrier bolted to my trunk work? Or the roof? Ideas plz! PS no $600 mount bumper BS cuz I can't afford that.

speaking from experience, if you wheel the tire on the roof rack adds a noticeable weight when off camber, which is why when i get through my more high priority projects its going on a rear swing arm carrier. Plus as stated the roof mount is a ***** when it comes to taking it down, but im lifted 4.5" on 32s.
if you mount it on the roof[properly] your going to need an after market rack.
and i have to ask, how is the roof any less likely to sag the leafs than the rear mount option?
if your jeep is the one in your profile pic(stock xj) just leave it in the stock location, if your leafs are sagged its not going to matter where your spare is, your money would be better spent on replacing your crapped out leaf packs and it would be cheaper than buying a proper aftermarket tire mount setup.
however if your dead set on relocating your tire head to the autowrecker and get a factory XJ spare tire swing arm, probly cost ya $50

I agree that your springs need replacing, I just finished an add a leaf lift yesterday (Merry Xmas to me) but my main spring was sound. Here are pics of how I mount my spare. The guy to contact about the inexpensive rear bumper mount is lynskynbnd.

Yeah even a full size spare isn't going to cause your springs to sag. Your springs are sagging because they're old and worn out. Just lay your spare down in the back to spread the weight out. Do you have a full size spare?

get a tj rear tire carrier and bolt it too your stock roof rack cross members and bam you have a roof rack tire carrier. maybe get extra cross rails to evenly distribute the weight. iv done it on both my jeeps.. only difference is i also had a legitimate roof rack just too distribute weight more evenly. should work fine without one though.
