I have always liked and decided it is time to get a Cherokee. My 95 Wrangler has been very good too me but with 153,000 miles and begining to show the dreaded rusty frame I just do not have the time or money to keep it up properly.
I like the idea of 4 doors and a little more storage space. I will run LT 235 B F Goodrich A T's (my favorite) and just a 2" budget lift for a little fender clearance (visual). This will be a daily driver.
I found a beautiful 4 dr.but 156,000 mile 1998 for $5995.
I also found a 2 dr. 54,000 mile 2000 for $7495 but do not care for its looks so this will be harder to pick one than I originally thought.
If I do get one I will be here more often.

agreed..those prices are way to high...the one you like with 156k on the odo you could easily find one on craigslist and possibly even ebay, with 20k less miles, for 3 grand

Those prices are exactlt right for south texas. And there is not any chance in anything of finding a 2k+ for anywhere near 3k here. My 87 was 2k

I also agree with all the price concerns. I bought my 98' with 140k for 3 g's. It took me 5 months to find it and had to drive 4 hours to pick it up, but the money i saved by doing that i put into the lift, tires, etc. They are out there just keep looking. Good Luck.

No picture for proof. I just drove home a green 1999 Cherokee classic. It is in decent condition except for the small worn out tires. For now I have a set of 235 Good Year Wranglers on Black D wheels that I had on my 95 Wrangler. The Black D's are an 8" wheel that sticks out about 2"s more than the factory steel that were on my Wrangler. Not sure if I will leave them on those wheels or put them on the factory aluminum that are currently on the XJ but they are too good to not use for awhile. I am Happy.
