Found this listing yesterday. Yes....the asking price is stupid high but it also has a "make an offer" option as well. Price aside what are your thoughts about the engine and undercarriage photos? Seems to be more rust than normal but it does not seem to bad. The seller states it is a Sport but really it is an SE.
The exterior and interior look clean. Just seems to have a bit more rust than normal on the front steering parts, rear leaf springs and the right rear frame rail end. I could be way off and it is not that bad....that is why I am throwing this out there to you guys. Thinking of making a low offer to see what he comes back with. Thanks

My 99 has more miles and rust then that 98... And we payed $4500 for mine.... Now of course i found out later that we over payed but if that 2 door is as in good of condition as it looks then id make an offer of 4500

 

hell, i wouldnt offer that much, there are no bids, and there is no reserve i would go 3k and see whut hits the fan!!

 

Dang that's one I the cleanest two doors I've ever seen, and the stick is nice but I would throw $4k out there and see what happens...

 

just remember, when ya go high----ya cant back down, i'm sticking with 3k

I did. Yes this price is high but....the seller just put on new front brakes (rotors and pads), new exhaust, all fluids changed, new shift boot and new sway bar bushings. I spent the better part of an hour talking with the guy about it prior to making an offer. Great guy and knows his Cherokees. He buys them from private sellers, auctions, etc. He then fixes and services them and puts them up on Ebay. He also runs a Jeep group that does off road runs.
There were 11 offers on it and I did not have the high offer if you can believe it. It was not an auction but a buy it now or best offer.
I also was able to do so some research on the previous owner as I have a buddy who is an investigator for an insurance company. This report makes Carfax and Autocheck look like a 3rd grade book report.
Was owned by a 60's something Army officer and this thing was serviced on time...every time.
I am sure I will get a few posts about the price but in the end I am happy with it and can sleep at night with what I paid for it.
Check out Ebay on the previously sold Cherokees both 2 door and 4 door. The clean ones are going for $6k and over. Crazy.

Once I get it home my plan is to swap out the idiot light guages with the real guage ones.

 

Id say good deal, if indeed all that maintience is DONE and its gas and go!!
