That'll happen to any liquids if you leave them sitting. The less dense liquid will rise and separate from the more dense liquid. That's how we can do things like this:

If you really want to break bolts free, mix ATF and acetone. It's dirt cheap and far more effective than Deep Creep, PB Blaster, or even Aero Kroil (which is the best of the bottles).
I'm not wanting the aerosol or intend to use it for bolts, I think Seafoam is a joke after reviewing the 3 ingredients and sometimes find it funny how we the consumer feel we're giving our car a 'treat' and how its going to perform because we just spent $10 on 16oz of backyard chemistry at best....

You can label practically anything you want to put in a bottle and it can be sold on the shelf.. I wonder how many people would continue to dump this stuff in their car if they knew what was in it...

but I'm intrigued so I will see for myself and document it along the way, who knows I may be converted , although my tests wont really be scientific as I don't intend to break down my motor before or afterward to see the results.. I may try a small motor also, and when I home brew a batch want to see if it looks and smells the same.. etc, etc..

Lamp oil, as a generic term, is kerosene with color and fragrance added.

Yes, exactly. Isopropyl alcohol has a specific gravity of 785.40 kg/m3, and kerosene is 817.15 kg/m3

That could be accounted for with brand variation and dilution in the bottling process of the isopropyl alcohol. It's likely they used a standard antiseptic bottle, which are generally around 90% alcohol.

I used BG 44k right when I picked up my Cherokee but I also started doing maintenance so I'll never know. Replacing the spark plugs seemed to have a much more noticeable effect, haha.

I figure it was snake oil. Have you seen the jugs of snake oil you can get on amazon.com? I need to pick some up!!

Nah, BG 44K is one of those few products that actually works. It's used in many dealers in place of or alongside official products like Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner.

The thing is, you only need those things/they only work if you have buildup in the first place. If an engine's been well cared for and runs a GOOD fuel (http://www.toptiergas.com/retailers.html) you won't get much excitement. Can't clean what's already clean!
