Sugar in my gas tank
Well I haven't driven my Comanche in about a week because I've been trying to sell it. Today I had someone coming over to look at it so I went to the gas station to fill it up...Three pumps wouldn't let me put gas in it. I finally stuck my fingers in and found out it was completely full of sugar. I might kill someone if I find out who did this. I took the apart tube running from the outside to the tank and got out about 3 cups of sugar. I think they weren't able to get much inside because the hose goes upwards. In case some did get inside, will a full tank be enough to dilute it? I really rather not drop the tank and I'm pretty sure most of it did not get into the tank.

I dont think it would have made it to a gas station if sugar got into it, have you even read what sugar does, and unless gas station is right next door, you wouldnt have made it more than a few hundred feet lol, . There are three basic ways that sugar in the gas tank is going to foul up someone's car. First, as you say, it will clog the fuel filter. Second, what gets through the fuel filter will clog the fuel pump. Finally, what makes it through the fuel filter and the fuel pump will completely foul whatever fuel delivery system your car uses. A carburetor that gets sugar in it is junk; you can strip it down and attempt to rebuild it but you likely will fail - it's a gummy, sticky mess. Your fuel injected vehicle will not fare much better when mucked up with the sticky stuff. This sort of vandalism will result in the car hesitating, losing power, and stalling. And repairs will not be cheap - replacing the fuel filter, dropping and draining the fuel tank, possibly a new carburetor or new fuel injectors. The latter two are very expensive, both in parts and labor. So with all that, i doubt you were able to drive it to a gas station and to 3 differnt pumps at that if the sugar got in...

Personally i would have to drop he tank to be sure. I know you don't want to, i completely understand, but its better than all the work if it gets through.
If you find out who it was and need an alibi pm me...
Of course i'm kidding.

Trust me, it was sugar and I drove at least 5 miles. I pulled the nozzle off and got about 2 cups of it out right away. Now the truck isn't starting. It is turning over but that's it. Pretty sure as several people mentioned, the fuel filter and more are probably now clogged.

That really sucks that someone did this. When I was a kid in the mid 80's people like to steal Mercedes hood ornaments. After my neighbor had his second one stolen he decided to file down the point around the circle. About a week later there was blood stains all down his grill but his ornament was still there. It was never touched again.
