Hooking up LEDs to your subwoofer on the subwoofer's cables to the amp is how you get them to light up to the beat of the song, but it is dangerous as it can blow your amp or sub up from short circuiting. If you want to hook them up so they go to the beat the safest thing to do would be to connect them with a switch so they will only work when you want them too. There is no harm done if it is only for a short duration (10 minutes) but when it's continuously lighting up to the beat is where the dangerous factory comes in to play

Thats what ive read. Tomorrow im gonna put in a fuse and switch though so hopefully well be safe. I have these truck L.E.D brake lights mounted on my rockers that glow red when i have the switch turned on, sorta like Streetglow. Would it be possible to do the same thing with them lol? Like fuse and switch? Or is that a bad idea all together powering those off my amp?

I personally would just go ahead and set it up with a switch, no fuse or anything else. I plan on doing this if I get another sub since the amp I plan on buying is a 2 channel. I'm not an expert I just read a lot into things that I am curious about. So i can't tell you much about getting into fuses too, but that just sounds more work that necessary imo

Gotcha im just gonna run a small inline fuse with like a 15 amp fuse in it on the line right before the switch. I think im gonna buy some more lights and do them under my dash.
