Default Stereo trim removal

2000 XJ came with an aftermarket stereo, but no AUX input

Went and bought a new stereo with that input and want to put it in. How do you get the trim surrounding the stereo off? In my other vehicle its taken off by just unsnapping the corners of the trim. I tried to get a corner of the trim by the stereo but its on there pretty solid. I did a search and found one thread, but I want to make sure I am doing this right. I have another creaks and rattles in the XJ as it is.

Pull the bottom corners outward. It will unsnap. If it is an auto it might be easier to move the shifter out of park.

It's very easy to take off, like razor said pull from the bottom. There's no need to take it out of park if it's auto trans.
