Anyone out here know much about stereos? i have a problem and need help with it. I have a cd player i installed. It powers up just like it should. all the connections are tight and secure. But when i put in a cd and it starts playing, nothing is coming from the speakers. Any ideas?

 

Not to sound rude. 1. Is the volume up? 2. Do you have the stereo on the correct channel. (It isn't on an auxillary channel, or USB input, etc.) You don't have an aftermarket amplifier hooked up at all do you? Did you hardwire the stereo or did you use a kit to plug and play into the stock wiring harness?

 

We will need a little more info. Does the radio work fine but the CD does not? If you are getting sound from the radio but no CD then the stereo is probably bad. Have you tried several different CD's just to make sure it was not the CD. What kind of stereo is it and how old is it.

 

As ken72 asked, does it have any sound on am/fm if so maybe the player is in "mute" mode or bad...Tj

 

As previously stated, did you use a wire harness adapter to install it? And were all the speakers working fine before you installed the new stereo?

 

More info on year, if you have used an aftermarket wiring adapter, and if you have a factory amplifier.

 

DEFINITELY gonna have to have some answers before we can help you i bet there will be at least 2 more people to ask these same questions as we need to know this to help you at all. OH and have you ever installed a stereo before? did you put in new speakers? Did the one before work? If not, did you check and make sure it even had speakers? lol not trying to be a dick just more answers=more help

 

how did it play before you had the stereo installed? or did you not have a stock stereo.
