Default spider trax ?

What does everyone think of using a wheel spacer like spider trax? I was thinking about buying a set to make my wheelbase a little wider.

Wheel spacer is a wheel spacer. Torqued right and they're just as safe as running less back spacing..

I agree, don't pay for a name but make sure the spacers are hubcentric.

I've looked around and priced wheel spacers. and i can't figure out why anyone would buy them over a whole new set of wheels. I've found that most spacers for a set of two run about $70 or more. For about $20 extra you can get yourself a nice set of shiny new Cragars. just my $0.02

They have them on ebay hubcentric for $58 with shipping for a pair so $116 for a set of four. show me a set of rims that cheap and I would definitly buy them instead.

I bought three sets on ebay from the company CJbargins. Every set was perfect and never had a single issue. I got into a conversation with them via email and they said spidertrax charges alot more because of the name and cuz they use aluminum anodizing. I don't need pretty wheel spacers.

don't get me wrong, I love the way my stock wheels look too. but i can't run 33s on them. so i'll deal with stock backspacing until I buy a set of Cragars and 33s

Is there no way to run 33's on stock wheels?

You can run 33's on a stock wheel if you run wheel spacers if they clear your control arms. A 33x10.5 will work fine on stock wheels and spacers. A 33x12.5 is pushing it and may rub when turning and flexing. The wheel width also plays a role on what width of a tire you can fit.

I have a buddy running 33x12.50s on stock wheels. but its not something I'd wanna try. I'll probably get 15x10s before I go up to 33s. and yes, running 33x10.50s is completely possibly with stock wheels but without spacers you will most likely have rubbing issues

Interesting. I had no idea you could go anymore than 31. This changes things.

That being said, I wouldn't ever recommend running a 12.5" tire on a stock rim. I'm just saying it can be done.
