One thing I have noticed with the new louder exhaust is I no longer have to look at my speedometer to know about what speed I am going...

The good ol' 4.0L speaks to me. I know the TC lockup happens at 43MPH and the tone of the motor + gas pedal position I can use my foot and ears to know my speed. I have also noticed I get better fuel economy too. (I think the louder exhaust lightened my lead foot a little)


I noticed the opposite effect on my bike... I put a quieter exhaust on it and I seem to have to watch my speed more.

this is very true! My shift points now are about 2500-3000 when driving normally. My "redline: i set my tach to is at 3500 lol. I too can tell what speed by listening. I really like it, and it helps alot when teaching persons to drive a standard. You tell them to listen for when the exhaust hits a good note then its to shift

also tire noise! When i am around town (speed limit 45) my tires "hummm" at 50 so when they are humming i know i am going the right speed lol its not a loud humm. but its noticable
