Did you go 6 speakers? or did u just move them?

I modified my speaker bar to fit speakers and tweeters.

 

I went to six speakers. It sounds okaay, with subs when I get the money it'll sound pretty good

 

6 speakers means your dividing your radios power up by 6 when it's designed for 4... are you running an amp at all? That'd be my suggestion to get more power to those speakers.

 

I got a new deck but the power is divided into two like normal and one of the two is divided some more so the back four have less power, which is fine because its still louder back there.

 

what the...mine only came with 2! Howd you guys get 4?!

 

Differant models have differant stereo options for example my first jeep had 4 speakers and was a laredo my second only had 2 its a sport it didnt even have provisions for rear speakers

You do realise that's not how it works right. Even though your dividing that wattage between two speakers. You are dropping the ohm load on the amp section of the deck making it work twice as hard. It will burn up if you push it for to long. You should run the speakers in the rear hatch off a small two channel amp. Like the cheap ones you can find at frys. That way all the speakers will be getting about the same wattage and your not burning up anything and it will sound a tone better when you crank it.

 

Not necesarily... its all in hee its wired. Wiring in series increases impedance while wiring parallel decreases impedance. If you just chain em together it will divide the power without changing the impedance.

 

What do you mean "chain them together"? There is only one of two ways to hook speakers together. Series or parallel.
*If all the positives are together and the negatives are together that is parallel.
*If you are running the + from the deck to the + on the first speaker. The the - from the first speaker to the + on the second speaker. Then the - from the second speaker the the - on the deck then they are in series.

Either way you are lowering the wattage to the speaker. Wattage does not mean volume. You can also destroy a speaker by under powering it.

You can do what you want but I'm just letting you know the correct way to do it. I'm an audio engineer and design sound systems. Both pro audio and car audio.

 

Series would be hooking one to negative then the positive of that speaker to the.negative of the next then positive on amp to positive on second speaker. Parallel is when you hook th speakers toge ther positive to positive negative to negative then hook the negative from the amp to negative of one speaker and the positive to positive of the other speaker. The third way would be to hook one speaker up then run wires straight from that speaker + and - to the + and minus of the other speaker.

 

That is parallel wiring. All the positives are together and all the negatives are together. Just because the speakers are separated by a length of wire all the positives are on the same line and like wise the negatives. You are under loading your head unit and it will burn up. I assure you.
There is only two ways to hook up two speakers together(with the proper polarity that is)

As I said do what you want. I'm just trying to save you from breaking stuff after you spent so much time trying to upgrade.

if you are gonna 4 speakers on two channels, wire them in parallel. it will drop the ohms less and push your deck less. it also depends on your speakers how much the ohms will drop. higher quality speakers will be capable of lower ohm ratings.

wiring them in series(mono wiring) will drop the ohms WAY more and push your deck and speakers to thier limits....or past.

i wouldnt do either to tell ya the truth. i would buy a small amp to push the extra speakers.
