I bought a set of 5 1/4 kicker speaker. I tried putting it in the fiberglass speaker pod in my cargo area. Bit they won't fit is there anyway to get them to fit.

With the name of Crazycaraudio, one would think you will know how to make them fit.

I think 96 and older used 6 1/2" speakers in the rear. 97+ used 5 1/4" all around.

what if you just go for the kicker KS 60 speakers they aren't much bigger, or cost much more but would probably fit better? thats what i did with mine. i had the 5 1/4 kickers and ended up with the 6 in ones.

My recomentation: forget the speaker bar... if you're putting decent speakers in it they will sound like crap. I speak from experience and very soon I will have my 6x9's in boxes..

I recently replaced all my speakers and all were 5.25", I replaced my door speakers with 5.25" Sony xplod 4-way speakers and replaced the hatch and sound bar with Kenwood 6.5" performance series. The Kenwoods had a 5.25-6.5" mount disk with multiple screw holes so they went into the hatch really easy with no fab, but the sound bar I had to snap off the 6.5" tabs but was still really easy. So I know that mine came 5.25" all round. Sound output is day and night difference from a half blown speaker set up

Where did you have the 6x9s? On the floor?

Right now they're in the speaker bar. the 5 1/2 Kickers before that sounded like crap to. I think it probably has something to do with the fact that the speaker bar is basically the equivalent of screwing them to a 2x4 on top of a pillow and then bungee-cording it to the ceiling. The factory ones were probably fine, but anytime either set of Kickers hit hard it sounded like complete crap.

I haven't really worked out where I'll put the boxes... I'll probably figure out a way to mount the whole box somewhere in the back seat where it doesn't cut into leg room too bad.
