Default Spare key

Hi all,

Just had to replace drivers 1/4 light window (locked keys in) long story

What I need is ideas on where to leave a spare key on the outside so I won't need to do the same again. I thought I would cable tie it somewhere !

Any ideas, if any member has any worries about security I'm after ideas, so I WON'T say which one I choose (if any)

Regards,

DJ

Here in the states you can sometimes have keys cut that will fit like a credit card in your wallet. You could even tape it to your vehicle (and make it look like it's not a key.) Just another idea that could mean you'd have a spare...

I always carry 2 sets of keys on me. I have a key for the XJ on each one.

Drill out the hole in the key big enough to fit the bolt from your license plate through it than put it behind your license plate and hand tighten works great been doing it for years

They sell magnetic boxes for this reason. I used to keep one between the bed and frame of my truck. Not sure where you could hide it on an xj though.

On a shop cherokee I was working on the no one could find the keys until one of my friends spoted a blue strap hanging down from the bumper. The PO hid it up in the bumper and tucked it in there, worked for quite awhile it seemed, lol.
