Default SO ANGRY! I hate my HOA.

So, I was cruising Craigslist tonight, and found a 98 Jeep XJ, 500 bucks, rolled once in the desert out here in Vegas, high pinion dana 30 in the front and dana 35 in the rear, good trans, good motor... 500 bucks.

I want to give my 96 XJ a sex change to 4wd...

GREAT, right?

Except, I live in an area with an HOA, and my garage cannot accommodate an immobile parts-jeep for any period longer than a day.

So sad right now. I thought I was gonna' get away with getting everything I needed for my switch to 4wd in one painless swoop, Tranny, T-Case, axles, driveshafts. But, alas, it is not to be.

I am already in danger of a nasty-gram from the HOA for beginning to spraybomb my XJ in the driveway, and leaving it two colors through the process. LOL.

Why would your HOA care about how long a vehicle is in your garage?

I said that my garage cannot accommodate an immobile parts-jeep for any period longer than a day. This being because it is already full of toys. Thus, it would need to be parked outside. Which would get me a fine within five minutes.

I have never lived in an area with a HOA, i hate them and forever shall hate them. Why should someone be able to have a say as to what you do on your property. I'd find out what the fine would be personally and get it anyway if it's nothing all that ridiculous but like i said i'll never live in an area with a HOA. As for the garage thing, you close the dor and no one is of the wiser, i'd hide it there.

dude bottom line is you have to make the room.

what ever you can put in the kids room do it.

whatever they don't really play with any more sell or give to the goodwill.

If the wifey says no more toys in the kids room, let her know it on a temp thing.

do you have a backyard or courtyard area. Fill that too.

don't pass up on this make it work.

Move the toys to the back yard and cover them with a tarp. Move the heep in at night and close the door. Anyone says anything play dumb, you just say....What?.... Huh?.... Where?..... When?.... Idk?.....

Sorry to hear about the HOA... I think that they have one in my neighborhood... but I don't really listen to them... they didn't do anything when I had a farm tractor in my front yard for the better part of a week.

edit... found pic...

I have never liked HOA's, when I lived in fl they told me I couldn't park my pickup truck in my driveway because they didn't like it, then they told me they don't allow motorcycles and tried to have that towed away as well. I couldn't wait to get out of there, I almost went to jail over that incident with the bike, but it taught me how cooperative someone will be when they are caught trespassing, tying a rope around your bike and you put a pistol to their dome. I used to go back after I moved from there just to burn rubber down the street I used to live on, I think they were less smug after I marked up their streets pretty good.

I had one where I used to live and it sucked, the only saving grace I had was that there was another guy worse than me. He parked an ice cream truck in his front yard. The HOA went balistic and that took the focus off my vehicles setting in the driveway, plus I kept them covered at all times. When I moved I made sure that my new was not in an HOA. Good luck!!

So the trick is to find a bigger slobby dump in your area that take the heat off of you. I like that.
