Snorkle or no snorkle...
I was reading this post - https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f58/my-snorkel-53706/ - and thought to myself " If I were in water that deep something is way wrong. Then it got me thinking about hardcore trail rigs and all those sorts... maybe people think it looks cool. I kinda think they look like a exhaust stack from a garbage truck, but thats me. Anyhoo on with the question...
Lets say hypothetical(however you spell it) that said owner of such fortunate rig with a snorkle was to dive off into the deep end of a pond, lake, bad stream crossing - whatever, and find oneself neck high in water. I think about what is under the hood and possibly in the cab that shouldn't be near water. However the engine might be safe from water damage, is the rest of the vehicle waterproof enough to withstand the dip?

If you do alot of water crossings it isnt a bad investment.

Snorkels for me are for security. Not so much about going in the deep. The first time I wheeld I hit a mud hole too fast and blew the connecting rods through the oil pan.Dumb newb mistake I know.I also get mud on my filter quite often. So ,I did a cowl snorkel to be safe.If I hit a hole too fast now it won't enter my motor. For $20 it's peace of mind.
