Default Snorkel question

K i just bought a snorkel for my 98 xj but ive never used one before i know how the snorkel works but whats the limit for being in the water i have a stock exhaust too so whats the rules basic things to look out for when im snorkeling?

Never snorkel with the windows up.

If you seal it right than you can have water up the windshield and be fine. If you stall with the exhaust underwater than you will hydro it through the exhaust. If you plan to dip it to the hood than you need to waterproof everything in the engine bay

1) Waterproof the engine like wiggles said
2)tranny snorkel(so you don't get water into transmission
3)never turn off the engine when underwater(unless he relocate the exhaust)

Those are the only ones I can think of.

how to snorkel the tranny if its and automatic? im just looking for problems to avoid because i dont want to dig myself into a money pit because of a stupid mistake you know

You move the tranny vent line as high a possible or into the cab

It is actually a breather hose, my mistake. The PO on my jeep did it already. But i would guess it is just getting a longer hose.

well that makes it super easy then i someone said it was inside the tranny. what about the axle vents or is that another project in its self

Just find where they run, get some simple tubing that's the same size then just extent them up

The top of the firewall is good unless your going to go that deep then go higher

hahah yeah ive been doing mad research on it but really didnt find anything very helpfull
