Slammin my XJ soon

WHY; just why, in 1000 years would you want to drop a jeep? Go get a honda, leave the jeep for people that know what to do with them.
Not to mention: its not gonna be the easiest thing ever.. New springs, shocks, pry some cutting, gonna have driveshaft length issues, etc...

making a low rider cherokee would be just retarded but a 2wd 2 door 5 speed with some fat tires lowered a bit with a nice hood and exhaust would be cool, maybe fit a 360 or 401 in it or just stroke the 4.0.i always thought something like that would be cool.
this looks decent http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_...0016_large.jpg

Surprised at the responses of "if it's not like mine, it's wrong" do what you want to do it's your Jeep. It'll probably ride better than most of the other Cherokee's on here, including mine. It's stiff as a board since I lifted it. Have fun!
the way I see it is this forum is for offroad enthusiasts with liftted jeeps, not for ricer wannabees that want to "murder out" their jeep...
Have you noticed our banner at the top of the page, see any "dropped" jeeps?
I think not...
I'll stay off your thread now. Im pretty opinionated and stubborn, Not trying to offend anyone. Just voicing my opinion..

Now I have pondered the idea of a XJ sitting almost on the ground, but not for the streets. I want to build one low slung with a 5 speed and geared so high it needs a push car to get rolling. Do you get where I'm going with this? Completly gutted with a rollcage hurling across the Bonneville Salt Flats at 160 MPH.

What?? you mean you didn't know? you're supposed to lower jeeps, and put the lift kits on the cadilacs and impalas so you can fit 24's on them...

It could look pretty good on a 2wd Cherokee...
Not my particular taste... but as I get older.. its just as hard to climb down in as it is to climb up in... and you can't get steps for lowered vehicles.

Why would anyone lower a Jeep it almost defeats the whole purpose of having a Jeep! You wanna lower something get a car any SUV looks so0o bad lowered!!! But if you had to lower a SUV go get a Santa Fe or a Tracker! They're a lame excuse for an SUV anyway

I appreciate all different kinds of styles so do what you want, but I don't see how you could really lower the rear of an XJ because of the leaf springs. Because it's spring over axle you can't install lowering blocks, and I've never seen any lowering shackles or springs or anything. I don't usually like the look of a stock height Cherokee with stock wheels and tires, but I really like stock height on larger wheels like Moabs.
