Im looking to replace my Headlight Bulbs, I got one that blew on me last night. While I was in the auto store I see that SilverStar came out with yet another set of bulbs. Now I did a little research on them and supposedly they output the same as there Ultra versions but at a more whiter light like HID's. Hence the packaging saying HID Attitude. Has anybody else tried these lights in there xj. And any feedback would be great. Likes, Dislikes, ect. And NO I don't want to do the HID conversion because I think the Projector style headlight just looks plane goofy on an xj. And if your running HID's in a nonprojector housing your just blinding everybody and its not safe. So please Keep your Why not go HID instead comments to your self. I like the look of the square housing with the mirror refletors that use H4 replacement Bulbs. So im just looking for a Brighter Whiter light. So if you use them or have them in another vehicle tell me what you think of them.
Thanx.

Any halogen bulb that says "Like HID", aren't. Simple as that. I went through a few sets on my DD before switching to HID's. Frankly, HID's are brighter. That's a fact. I'm not trying to sell you HID's, nor am I saying these bulbs aren't good (No personal experience). I am saying comparing halogen to HID is like apples to oranges.
With that said, after some reading people aren't liking these bulbs and are saying Xtravision's are the brightest bulb Sylvania makes. It makes sense, the blue tint of these lights allows for less light output. However, they are not the "white" you are looking for, they are brighter than these (from what I've read). ZXE's also burn out faster than the other bulbs (written on the package)
Good luck with your search! I don't blame you for asking either, I hate yellow halogens, and was on a search for white light also when I finally cracked and got HID's

Unfortunately I don't care for the look of projector's on a cherokee. I just think it looks stupid...... its so out of place looking. But that's my opinion. And if your running HID's without them it is not safe. You are blinding other drivers and can cause an accident.
So that being said im sticking with Halogen Bulbs or Xenon filled whatever. Just looking for a Brighter Whiter Light then your typical yellowish Halogen. And figured if anyone was running these I would like some feedback on them are they worth it or not. Now what I've read is the Ultra's were there Brightest Light output Bulb. And these new ZXE are supposed to be the same but with a Whiter Looking Light.
I agree on the projector look on XJ's also, however my DD is not an XJ so I don't have that problem. Back on the ZXE's, if you search on google you can find some other forums that have people using them. I think I read from an F150 forum, and a Nissan Maxima forum.
You could just buy them, try them, and keep them if you like them, return them of you don't!

Silverstars are dirt. I can tell you from experience. Don't get me wrong, they look good when you first put em on. And they are bright, while they last. Only downside to silverstars are they burn out waaaayyyy quicker than others. You'll be replacing em once a month

I guess i'll steer clear from them then from what I've read on a few other forums they blow fairly quickly and would have to replace them often. I guess I'll go with a set of the Hella replcement bulbs. Cause all the auto stores around me sell nothing but Silverstars.

I already have those Headlight housings on my jeep. I just need a set of replacement bulbs for them. So I guess I will just get the hella replacements for them. Because most of the posts I read say the silverstar zxe do shine bright and really white, But don't last long at all they burn out really fast. And to me that's not worth 60 Bucks.

I've been running the Osram 55/60 bulbs that came with my Cibie housings since 09'. I know there not that hot but 2 years isn't too shabby IMO.
