So like most people are doing with their XJ's, I was thinking of removing the side molding on mine. The only thing that is keeping me from doing it is I know the PO repainted the whole Jeep, and I don't think that they took the molding off, because I believe they said it used to be black and they painted it the body color. Does anyone know if I were to take the molding off, it would look bad since it has been repainted? I just don't want to take it off and find old paint lines or something showing.

 

Im pretty sure its some sticky adhesive just peel it back slowly to see if it has been painted or not

 

I mean I know it has been repainted, I'm just not sure if there would be paint lines or not? I'm not really experienced with paint/body work. Also if I start to peel it back, would I be able to get it back on straight?

 

just paint the lower quarter black or rhino line it.

 

You should be able to but if worse ce to worse itd looke better rhino lined
