gc is a whole different rig to be comparing to an xj in ride quality.
i have had my drop brkts for over 5 years on two different jeeps and they only have one scratch on them....its about knowing where to place your tires. long arms hang down even further so i would imagine i would hang up on those more.
just because its not done with long arms doesnt make it not right. watch my pinion angle in full flex compared to a y-link and tell me whos is better. a true long arm, three link or four, would be best to go with.
i dont argue that long arms arent better ride, but think mine is done right. my steering is another story.....
and ROCK, i quote the first line in your sig!!

Sorry man, couldnt resist. I drive my Jeep harder than anyone i know around here, and I have never bent an arm, nor do I drag them on everything, but yes I have hit them. What size tire are you running?

The PORC sye's are reboxed OMIX units.
Not Advance Adapters or JB Conversions.

No biggie.
Knowing the reputation PORC has (check Pirate as suggested) .... it wouldn't surprise me if it was the OTHER way around.

in my opinion flex is one of the smaller reasons to go longarm
the flatter control arm angle the better for a multitude of reasons.
picture your jeep coming up to a ledge or undercut, do you want the tire to grip the ledge and climb up while compressing the suspension on that side?(such as with a flat control arm angle)
or would you want a steep control arm angle and come up to that same ledge and instead of climbing up it the rear tires try to push the jeep forward while the front axle sits there with the jeep trying to run it over? and say you have a front locker and that tire finds traction to get up the ledge. The suspension will unload and not compress until that tire is on relatively flat ground. I have seen this case first hand and it can make for some scary situations.
this brings up another point i like to preach. what is too much flex? as a tire droops the steeper the control arm angle gets which makes that tire have the same problem as stated above.
then of course there is the obvious ride quality benefits, flex, yadayadayada

yes i run the 6.5 rusty short arm lift and imo it rides great..i get enough flex off road, if this is going to just be a vehical you use occasionally on the trail then its more then enough also i think it does pretty good on the road..not to rough and handles bumps pretty well. and if you were wanting to eventually upgrade its not like you couldnt do long arm later thats what i had to do im tight on cash too. i guess i dont get how going short arm isnt right like some others do works fine for me and im less then easy on my rig.... much less
