She's alive, she runs!
After sinking my jeep and having two shops tell me I need to replace my chassis and engine wiring harness and a month and a half of near suicide (for me) it's running.
Traced the entire issue to a faulty contact on the battery end of my battery to PDC wire last night. Replaced the contact, fed her some carb cleaner, she started right up and spit about a gallon of ****-water out the exhaust. My eyes teared up when she started.
Time to change fluids and hit the trails in an hour or two to see if I can''t break her again.

It sounds like it's time for a snorkel! I've done this twice to
Mine and the 2nd time was the last time for the sad 4.0.
Believe me a snorkel is a good idea

I don't see how a faulty contact on my power cable could even remotely suggest I need a snorkel? By your logic, 1+1=4

I'm sorry maybe I miss read but when I hear sinking it, it either came very very close to hydrolocking it or B your definition of shinking it is alot different then mine.
But I'll still recommend that if your going to be playing in any kind water in an offroad situation*your should water proof your jeep IE putting dielectric grease on any electrical connectors that might come into contact with water, moving your fuse box up, waterproofing your distributor cap, raising all vent lines AND by adding some thing to rase your intake like a snorkel.
I hope something there helps you out... If not I waisted about 20 min writing it
But I am still very glad you fixed your jeep.

First of all maybe if you read something rather than assuming that you knew the problem would have known it wasn't hydrolocked?
Second off, how in the hell do you know I don't already have a snorkel? The internet never ceases to amaze.
When you assume you make an *** out of you and me.
I think our definitions of sinking are the same if not similar, the water was 4-5' deep. I was on a slope though, the passenger side was completely flooded but the driver side was not quite covered and as soon as I got stuck I knew I wasn't getting myself out and could feel it pulling me deeper so rather than letting it run and hyrdrolock my engine, I cut it off.
That sounds like pretty flawless logic to me BigBear.

Maybe instead of going off you could have just stated that you had a snorkel all ready and what happened instead of getting pissed at people for making an obvious SUGGESTION...
