well, ive been looking patiently for about 3 months and still havent found the one for me but i figured id start this thread so i can get some input from yall about pricing and just yalls opinion...

to give yall an idea of what im looking for i really wan a 91 or above and i will be using it as a dd untill i can get enough money to build it up then it will be a dd and weekend warior. i really want it to have a good looking body and under 200k

the current one im going after is a 98 that has 177k and 'runs great' the seller is asking 2500 (overpriced imo)

What rear end does it have d35 or 8.25?

What kinda shape is it in?

And just at first glance I do think 2500 is a bit high

Leo, where are you? Look farther out than your area. A short flight or drive and you can score a really nice XJ w/$3k. And I mean REALLY nice.

The closest to perfect, in a 8 - 25 year old, used XJ. Will be the XJ within yor budget, newest, fewest miles, least damage and best condition you can find. It WILL not met all of the requirements, look for the one that is closest. Realize the newest you will find will have been built in 2001 or before. It WILL need repairs, prior to any mods you have planned. Avoid modded rigs, that includes exhaust and intake mods, not just lifts. All modifications from stock, point to a rig that was used as a toy either on the street or trail.

Simply put, you find the XJ you can afford, and make it perfect. Even if you find the perfect XJ, it will have problems, just due to its age.

Allright, what do yall think about this one:

its got 119k on it with only one owner and hes asking $2100 for it... i think its just the most basic xj you can get...

theres a ton more pics here: http://atlanta.craigslist.org/atl/ctd/1413199561.html

thanks

That is to much for a 94 Leo. You keep looking and the right one will come a long. I'm glad you are not jumping on the first one you find and are taking the time to look and get opinions.

Dealers are rip offs...you can get the same jeep from a private party for a grand. And trust me the dealer doesn't do anything to it except shine it up for you.
