Default To seafoam, or not to seafoam?

I have a 94 Cherokee Country, H.O motor, with 239.3k miles on it. I know if I put too much seafoam in her, she'd get TOO clean and could be damaged. So, who thinks it would be alright if I introduced small amounts of the stuff into the engine oil? I've already done the seafoam spray treatment right into the TB, worked great, want to do the engine oil-add now. Any thoughts??

Personally I don't believe in oil additives. Use good oil and filters.

I'm not an additive fan either but sea foam works. You'll definitely notice smoother idle and throttle response.

If you already have any leaks already then its advised not to add it to the oil, because it could clean out the gunk that is holding the seals together and cause some pretty bad leaks. If anything I would add less then recommended and have the oil changed within 200 miles.

I didn't do it on mine because my old jeep was a leaky bastard and didn't want this one to be

Don't like additives either as far as Seafoam goes I think its great if you change the oil after like directed.as far as additives go I have used Lucas for the crank case to quite things down in the drive train

Yeah, my old XJ is pretty leaky actually, thanks for bringing that up. Don't want to wash out all the built up gunk holding my engine together.
Guess I'll live with my rough idle and sewing machine like sound effects from the engine.

IF I added like a thimble full once a day for like two or three days think that would make any difference???

I think I'll spoonfeed little bits to my Cherokee and clean it up a bit, the P.O. didn't know how to change ANY fluids.. everything was brown and full of crud.

LOL! A gallon of seafoam, good idea! I'll wash (and disintegrate) the cylinders right out with that much!

Have another question. It doesn't say this on the bottle at all, but I should check with all you people anyway I feel! I used the "Seafoam Spray" that you spray right into the throttle body to treat intake and such, and I'm wondering if I would by some roundabout way need to change oil or do anything after running that stuff through the engine.

Not sure about putting it in the oil but I know when u do it on the vac line to the intake manifold its recommended u change your oil as some gunk an carbon can alil past your rings. I've only run seafoam once in my turbo eclipse an it does a hell of a job an everyone I know from import tuners to offroaders love it. Just my. 02
