So according to the tech sheet, the glow in the dark paint is indoor only (not surprising) and will glow for about 2 hours. I don't see anything that says it wont work if clear coat is applied over it, so with proper prep and good clear coating, it should be ok i think outside. And with the sun beating down on it, i bet it glows more than two hours.

Sorry i forgot about this thread. I talked to the people at Rustoleum and apparently the stuff doesn't react favorably to clear coat over large areas because the clear heats up so fast and hot. They also said exposure to constant sun will break it down over time.

So personally I decided not to try it, but if you do I'm more than curious about the end result.

Home Hardware sells the R-oleum here. It does work great.
I've also painted a 79 Caprice in the past with tremclad white and roller, whole car in 1/2 hour, just use a low pile roller. This was not a hack job, I used a fresh roller. The car had long since fallen out of grace with my wife but at over 400000 mi on the sbchevy I had a sentimental attachment. On close inspect one could clearly see it was of trailer park limo qualtity construction. Hope your application of the Rustoleum goes well, I really don't believe you will need the clearcoat. Just give it lots of drying time to harden up (couple warm days or more if possible) prior to driving again. Look forward to the results. Have a great Alaska!

I went with Rustoleum. Got the first primer coat on, waiting for stuff to dry is the worst part.

In a small town near me there is an old timer painting cars with a Wagner Power Painter! It's the one to paint fences and what not. And actually they come out looking good.
