Default Running 35's plus?

Ok, so i have 5.5in of lift with cut fenders on my 88 and I'm wanting to know what i need to do to clear 35's to 37's comfortably any advice would be much appreciated. I want the tire size but do i need to go up to 8in or can i make it work as it sits? Thanks.

i run 35s on about a 6 inch lift right now. i will be on 37s soon. you just need to extend your bumpstops right to where your tires clear. both in the front and back. also need to upgrade your steering. if you are running stock axles you will need to baby them as to not grendade them. gears help alot too. also with that big of a lift you will need a SYE

I ran 35s with a 4.5" lift. just cut the fenders a bit and you will be fine.

I also run 35's with about a 5 inch lift and cut fenders. I also put 4.10 gears in the stock d30 and 35 to help with the lack of power. Looking back i wish i would have went with lower gears but i got the 4.10's given to me out of a 4 cyl xj, so for the price i can't complain.

Tape measure current clearances then see what room you have what room can be made vs what room you need .

8.8 and 44 are a common and strong combo. they would hold up to 35s just fine. i would go 4.88s or even 5.13s in that setup. i run 4.88s on 35s with a 44/60 combo and i wish i would have gone 5.13s or 5.38s

Truss the 30, and swap a 8.8 in the rear. Beef.

Trim and bumpstop. You'll be good, and go 4:88s. 4:10s on my 34s was bad.

A d30 and beef do not go together . 7.25 ring gear has me thinking of the old BK commercials with the old lady asking "where's the beef" ...has anyone advocating d30 with 5.13's ever looked the size of the pinion gear on 4.56-4.88 on a d30 let alone 5.13's . 4.10 gears are about the limit on a d30 for decent pinion gear strengh .
