Hey op, not sure if you have ordered your kit yet, but there is a Zone Offroad vendor on this forum that will sell you the zone 4.5" lift with full leaf packs and nitro shocks for around $640 plus shipping. Msrp is around $740-750. I have heard that the nitro shocks make for a good ride, for a short arm lift. Let me know if you need more info.

Kit still sitting. I've had to take care of some other stuff lately. Anyway, I did have some time to pull off the stock trailer hitch and get a good look at the leafs. Compared to stock the RE leafs are fricken monsters. Not just the arc but the thickness and number of leafs. Is this right or did they send me the wrong leafs?

By thickness do you mean the thickness of the pack or the width of the leaf or what? The leafs should be the same size..maybe a little thicker..just not wider..you shouldnt have to remove your hitch to take the leafs off..both my rigs had hitches. I just backed the bolt out a bit cut it..then started tapping it out..cut some more..till its out..then install the bolt to where the nut goes on the side closest to the hitch mounts.

The thickness and number of leafs seems greater on the RE. But I haven't put them side by side yet so I could be wrong.

Took the hitch off for other reason. Approach angle and installing tank armor. Later I'll get a bumper with integrated hitch mount.

Number of leaves will vary, your find there. The only thing you dont want is the leaves to be wider..by wider I mean if you were to set them on teh ground with the bottom of the arch touching the ground side by side the leaves shouldnt be wider.

The stock springs are 4 or 5 leaf and the individual leafs are thinner than RE's. The RE 3.5" and 4.5" springs are 6 leaf. The 5.5" spring is an 8 leaf (with thinner leafs though).

Finally started. Rear is mostly done. Two tiny issues:

1. You have to do is ream or drill the center hole on the axle mount pad. The RE spring aligning pin is slightly larger than stock. Instructions say something about 3/8" hole but the micrometer says the pin is 0.55".

2. The shackle grease fittings don't fit. I suppose they should be tapered threads but no way the threaded hole is the right size. This isn't my first time dealing with tapered threads either. Anyway, some amount of monkey business was required.
