just get the RE lift with RE shocks. install everything and if you need an SYE later, get one
focus on a lift and shocks. the RE kit even comes with stainless brakes

Is there anything I can do to make the ride not so crappy with the short arm?

nothing significant. RE lift with RE shocks is probably as good as it gets

Depends on which RE shocks.
The twin tube aren't as good as the mono tube.

Get the Bilsteins.

I'd still piece together my own kit with long arms.

I didn't like the add-on pices of the RE 5.5" and $2000+ was too much for a long arm. I didn't want a cheapie either.

Yeah, Do you happen to have a picture of your Jeep?

depends what valving you get. I know serious sells them stiffer and softer. but you want them on the fairly stiff side

this is my jeep with the RE 4.5" superflex. it would droop a little further if the hill was steeper
