Checked out the Forks over Knives.. now, while plant based and vegan don't scare me, I am a meat eater. The other thing is there's a LOT of fruits and vegetables that I cannot have...you'd think they'd be better for me, but it depends on the potassium and phosphorus levels. Beans are a no go, potatoes are no go, whole grains are no go...see what I mean? I will hunt through the website for recipes I can have though.
Down here in Florida we have a little thing called "flesh eating bacteria." Usually occurs when your in water, salt, fresh or brackish into any skin opening. Real bad stuff.. A neighbor was at a boat ramp catching blue crab when one pinched him and drew blood. They had to cut off his arm to save him. Infections are no joke...sorry for what you are going through. I have had a few incidentents of cellulitis and thankfully the VA are on top of there game, or was. Hopefully in a few months you will be strong enough to start digging out from the snow drift that comes down from the northern tundra...
Starting to get things in order...this took forever as the box these were packed in got bounced around pretty good, sending all the little bits to the bottom of the box...

Just thought I'd share an update on my ongoing recovery...everyday is better, I'm gaining strength, and am now able to get around without a walker. My lab numbers improve weekly, and Friday I was told they're going to dial back my dialysis, however I don't know what that means. The doctor just wrote "reduce dialysis" on my file, but wasn't clear on how, and of course he was unavailable all day Friday, so the nurse told me not to show up Monday, and she would get verification on what we're going to do.
Regardless, moving in the right direction. I can't wait to get these tubes out of my neck.
