I will post some pictures soon.

But let's talk first. I've changed some parts here and there and my fuel economy and cooling capabilities were gone.

Changed the ASD replay the crank shaft position sensor the water pump the thermostat the radiator both electric and viscous fans work perfectly. Changed the cap and rotor spark plugs sparkplug wires pre cat o2 sensor and post cat o2 sensor.
As well as welded a new 18 inch muffler with the stock tailpipe.

What else can I change for better fuel economy? It's a 96 cherokee.

Also installed new radiator and found the viscous fan comes on when at temperature and it hasn't before with the old radiator. What the heck? Didn't even know that was an issue but is it because of loss of pressure in the old radiator or something?

Mount a vacuum gauge in plain sight and use it.

Imagine there is a raw egg on the floor under your gas peddle and you don't want to break it while pressing

Thats a good idea. Might install one of them on my XJ... not that i expect to get 50 mpg out of that 4.0. lol

My F150 V8-coyote has a selectable real time MPG gauge on the cluster display.
The good news, by monitoring that display religiously and driving accordingly, it allowed me to get 22 and sometimes 23 mpg combined.
The key i found out is to take the lead out of the right shoe and do a lot of long coasting to stop signs, etc. when ever possible.
The bad news, i never hear that V8 exhaust scream.

Bottom line, these Jeep 4.0s are plain and simple.... gas hogs.
