Is it really worth it? I followed the write up here and relocated mine and I feel like I'm gaining a few MPG but it could be wishful thinking.

The Intake Manifold does get blazing hot, especially sitting right above the header (which has a leak). The stock air box stays much cooler.

Just curious if anyone else has done this mod, or tried it and went back.

Plenty of people have done this mod, and it's a step in the right direction towards getting better gas mileage. You may not notice a difference right off the bat - especially since it'll take your ECU a little while to adjust to the change - but every little bit helps.

You're looking at probably a 1-2mpg improvement after moving it.

did mine a while back and it seems to help another guy told me to do to IAT sensors one in the new location for summer and one in the old stock location for winter have not done that yet though but i like it it seems to idle a little bit better and the mileage is adding up

Try resetting ECU

I'm gonna grab a spare one next time I go to the junkyard. If you leave one in the stock location, then you don't need to plug the hole up. Also, like stated before, you could always go back to the stock location. Figuring, the part will be free and I have some spare wiring, it's worth a shot. Another way you could squeeze out some MPGs is to build an adjustable map sensor. I brought my parts list to my local Radio Shack and they didn't have one part I needed. It would have cost $16 to have everything shipped to my door, so I'll wait till I find one that has the parts I need and save on shipping. There are plenty of articles on it. Do a google search and you should find some good write ups and info.
