Don't know about a metal one, maybe in the earlier years. All mine are plastic.
I had the dealer install one on my XJ before i picked it up. My property is accessed by a gravel road.
And recently ordered another one from Jeep and installed it on my Patriot.

They were official oem optional Jeep accessories.
They're supposed to keep dust from building up on the rear window when driving down dusty or gravel roads. They work some but not great.

Mine is a limited. I found the plug under my sea from the power leather seats that used to be in there. Guess the po pulled and replaced them

Years ago I parted out an 88 xj. Sold both axles for $80. When I helped the guy load them up, he said "thanks for the D44." come to find out, it was a d44/30 combo with factory 3.73s. Wish I had known that before I took $40 a piece

oooooooooooooouch. That was one lucky dude there. I didn't get mine for quite that cheap but even for $170 was a deal.

Sunroof, rubber flooring. Heated mirrors aren't so rare but out of the 5 I have only one came with them and they're nice to have in CT. Not sure where u live. They're a nice junk yard grab. Any factory skids or tow hooks not so common.

Any original piece that's in really good condition is a good score these days. Especially if you're into replacing things with original parts and not cheap copies. So many parts are becoming not available. I expect in my lifetime to see a point where any original peice of trim or body part will be rare. It's at the point now where there isn't much NOS stuff available.

What I've always wondered is would there be a company that will start reproducing stuff? Kinda as Year One or LMC Truck do for older vehicles. Original emblems and seats and dash panels and such.
Now that I think about it, a drivers seat without a rip or a stain is rare. Lol

This may be old news, but I just discovered that the Mopar rear wind deflector part number 82203380 was also used for 2001 to 2007 town and country vans.

I also didn't know Mopar made rock rails for the XJ. 82205091

CD Changer Enclosure. I have one in my '00. This is not mine but this is what it looks like.

Forgot I picked this up. It is not a Jeep Logo one but the Lido one. Same but with a Jeep Logo.

Dealer installed option. Keeps dust from accumulating on the window.

Default Rear Spoiler

My 1996 XJ had one of the rear spoilers mounted to fiberglass hatch, it seemed to function well. Still have the spoiler, but not the XJ.

A factory fog light switch is not rare but there are some very rare switches that were available on 97-01's. The EXT IDLE switches were only available on police package XJ's and bumped the idle up to 1k rpm to run accessories. The rear fog light switch (backward looking fog symbol w/ amber status light) was a Euro market only option on the higher trim levels and illuminated a rear facing red light in the Euro brake lights. The TJ/LJ locker switch doesn't count as it is not rare (still available) and is a modified switch.

The 6 switch panel above is not factory, its a Wizard_pc panel and available on his GCT Enterprises Shapeways page. There are rare 4 switch panels out there though. They were mostly used on police package XJ's and Euro market XJ's with all options:

Not much out there yet, but I think it'll catch on. Never thought the Foxbody Mustangs would ever get much restoration support, but they do now.

This place has some XJ stuff, body parts, weatherstripping, etc.
