Quick lift question.
yeah yeah, another lift thread.
But im trying to get things straight,
if i buy this 3'' kit: http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3x.html and then add spacers up front and shackles in the rear, about how high will it sit?(roughly) and would that be a decent setup for light offroading and dd.
also is there anything i need to purchase seperate to complete the lift if i get that kit?
heres what im thinking, buy that 3'' kit and run it on stock wheels, buy shackles and spacers, trim fenders, and then buy wheels and tires according to how much room i have. (feel free to critique my plan, im 15)

1: what size shackles and spacers? (look in to rough cpuntry's shackle relocation bracket to get 1.5" instead of new shackles)
2: you can run 31" tires with the 3" kit and can prob run 33" tires comfortably with the 4" and cut fenders (after you get the spacers and shackle brackets or whatever).
3: you will probably need a sye or tcase drop. The rough country 3" kit prob comes with a tcase drop (I didn't look very closley)
4: extended brake lines or brake line relocation brackets

jeepxj123 pretty much hit the nail on the head, i would also look into the rc control arm drop brackets. If your not going long arm this is the next best thing, and it will also help prevent death wobble.

all from RC:
84-02 Jeep XJ Cherokee 3" Series II Suspension 345.95
Jeep XJ Big Bore Steering Stabilizer 28.95
XJ Adjustable Rear Shackle 45.95
rear shock boots, red 12.40
and from quadratec im going to buy the spacers, probably gonna end up getting 1.5 or 2'' so that when i haul the trailer im not looking up at the sky.
point out anything that doesnt look right, and let me know if you think my plans good.

with you going to 5" you will need a adjustable track bar and a pitman arm drop. and by adding the spacers i am not 100% sure but you might be putting those fixed control arms at a bad angle sense you cant adjust them to center the axle.

Exactly what he said . . going to 5" your going to need to adjust everything to keep the geometry right . . i would just go with the 3" lift, install it, learn it, see how it rides and then move on from there . . and 3" of lift can be very capable offroad, plus a lower center of gravity will give you good on road handling aswell
