I am on car-parts.com does it matter what axle I get?
again I have the Chrysler 8.25" rear end

1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Axle Assy Rear
-(disc brakes), Spicer 35 (round cover), 3.55 ratio
-(disc brakes), Spicer 35 (round cover), 3.73 ratio
-(disc brakes), Spicer 44 (hexagon cover), 3.55 ratio
-(disc brakes), Spicer 44 (hexagon cover), 3.73 ratio

I would get the parts from the D 35. The gear ratio does not matter.I have done this swap twice with D 35 parts, never tried it with D44a parts. Have read somewhere there is a "extra" step involved using 44 parts but can't confirm that.

Is there a better (stronger than C. 8.25) axle with the disk brakes that I can swap into my 93 xj. Semi-Posi or maybe has lockers? If yes does anyone have one. If no does anyone have the parts needed for the brake swap?

Look for ford 8.8 swap. The 8.8 out of a explorer, believe it is 95 and up have disc brakes, lots come with a factory limited slip. Just match to your front gear ratio. Will need to cut of all the explorer mounts and weld on new ones for the Xj. I was at the salvage yard earlier this week and walked by at least 5 zj with rear disc. Lots off them here. Atmos, a guy here on he forum has a good link in his sig on the 8.8 swap.
