Been there. After days of research i had come to the conclusion that the Jeep Liberty (KJ) swap would be an easier job UNLESS you are implying that my 93 XJ cant be converted with the Liberty (KJ) setup.

That's about as easy as it gets. Only thing different is slightly enlarging the zj backing plates. It is a VERY minor amount. I went Zj because there were no Libertys in the j/y. I would assume any year Libby with rear disc would work. Oh btw I did mine on a 1995 8.25 and then put the same parts on a 93 8.25 so yea it will work, good luck. so just to be sure any year ZJ will work for my 93 XJ with the 8.25 Chrysler axle. And I dont know much bought the ZJ is there a certain axle that I need to pull these disk brakes from aka I am looking at a 2002 grand cherokee with Dana 44 Disc brake posi rear Axle complete. Will that work ?

I am afraid the 44 won't work for you. 93-98 Grand Cherokee with the dana 35 is what you want. There weree so many out here I got all my parts for 20.00 bucks.

The write up here says 94-98. Maybe disc was not an option on 93? I just grabbed mine off the first disc braked zj with a dana 35 I found. The 35 is the key.

ok if I cant get my hands on this D44 then I will stick with ZJ 94-98 or a KJ if I can find one. I heard any year KJ(liberty) will work, not sure if I believe that but KJ hard to find anyway.

That 2002 has 5 on 5 bolt pattern. XJ and ZJ are 5 on 4 1/2.Not sure what else is diffrent. Keep looking for a ZJ.

Ok, thanks guys thanks for the thread info. I could find these exact answers on other threads. I am going to the bone yard this weekend to find a ZJ 94-98.
