Question on synthetic winch line...
I was wondering about mY synthetic winch line. I have the winch covered, but what about the line that is hanging out of the cover? Its the part of the line that has the hook that clips onto the d ring that is on the bumper. Its exposed. Should I clip it under the cover to keep it from being exposed?

I saw a ton of different colors of duct tape at Walmart a few days ago.
If you feel like getting fancy spend a few bucks and get the design imprinted stuff.
I got black.

You don't have to splice the line.
Just remove the hook, plus the stainless loop thimble. You should then be able to slide the safety ring up the line out of the way. Then slide the line onto the aluminum loop of the safety thimble, then just move the safety ring down onto the aluminum loop and tighten the allen head screw.
That is how mine went on it took all of 10-20 minutes. ( and most of that was removing the stainless loop )

Like I said, you shouldn't.
Look at the aluminum safety thimble, if the safety ring or collar has an allen head set screw like mine did you do not have to splice line. It takes some work getting the stainless thimble off and getting the aluminum one on because they fit dam tight. You have to sort of roll the the line into the grove on the aluminum thimble.
