question about shocks
i got a 96 xj on 136k 2weeks ago. and i am in progress of fixing rust and other things slowly before winter.
while in progress, i found my shocks are all rust really bad. so i'm looking for getting a new shocks and my xj is in stock setup now.
but after i found this forum i want my xj lifted about 3"
however i don't have much money now, so i need to go with stock setup for awhile till i make money, then i will lift it
so my question is what shocks are available for stock and 3" lift?
my question maybe akward, i don't know, but any advice very thanks

If you want the really cheap way, stock shocks from a Jeep JK (Wrangler, 2007-2010 I think) will work, and are good up to a 4" lift. I don't know how well they do on a stock setup. One thing to note though: You will either need bar pin eliminators on the front end, or you will have to press out your bar pins from the stock shocks and press them in on the JK shocks. I got my JK shocks for free from a member of my local Jeep club, who had lifted his JK and didn't need them any more.
