Default question about doors

looking to get new doors for my jeep. i am wondering if the doors from a newer body style will fit with out any problems. mines is a 96

Engine: 4.0 with all of the noise and clatter

97 and newer have different hinges and latches. You won't gain anything by swapping to later model doors, just a bunch of headaches.

Actually, you get a single window vs the vent/non-vent window. Newer nicer mirrors (altho can be swapped onto older doors), panel is a little nicer.


zac, I see you live in Nipomo, so do I unfortunately. Whereabouts are you?

As busted said, it would be a headache to try and get the hinges to work. Second, the body lines would be different.

ohh i see. i was just wondering cuz mine have a bunch of bondo crap so i would rather replace the doors all together and there is a junk yard in san fran that my dad works by sometimes that has a crap load of newer jeeps.

and i live on camino caballo, right off of pomeroy. what does your jeep look like? we should meet up sometime

The older doors can be converted very easiely to the single window.

Gold-ish renix XJ with green metallic 97+ header panel and fenders. 4.5" lift 31" MTR-K's I have a set of doors for a price... PM me and I'll give you info.

Thanks. Definitely a work in progress. It will eventually be one color or a least a better two-tone. But it does its job. My front coil springs are too stiff for my liking, but they were cheap so I cannot complain. Gotta save for better coils/shocks.
Not sure which or how many doors you were looking for. Also have a hatch. Let me know if you are interested. You can PM me your info and I can give you mine as well.

I didn't think it could actually be you that parked next to me cuz it was so random, but interesting.

haha yeah exactly what i was thinking.

yeah i am saving for a new lift as well. gunna be going with the poly performance long arm kit and deaver jeepspeed coils and some king bypass shocks.

i will pm you when i get on a computer cuz for some reason tapatalk wont let me open your page.
