Purchasing my first Jeep at 18, new to the Jeep World
I'm 18 years old and looking to purchase a Cherokee. I LOVE Jeep Cherokees but have yet to get my own. So later today I'm hopefully going to look at a 1994 2 Dr Jeep Cherokee and it's got 260k miles on it, he wants 1400 for it but I at least wanna try to get him to 1200, is purchasing a Cherokee with 260k worth it?

I got my current XJ with 242,000. I've been driving it for over a year with no engine or tranny issues. Worst case scenario I can get an engine or transmission on craigslist in my area fairly cheap or buy an entire parts jeep for a few hundred. I would go and drive it. Take some time to look it over good and if you don't find anything that turns you away make an offer.

Crawl all over it. Look for the wet spots indicating fluid leaks... but most importantly, look for rust.
Rust is the real Achilles heel of these things. Make sure that there is no serious rust on any of the structural areas. These Jeeps are unibodies and rust in the wrong spot can make them downright dangerous.
