PSA: Fix Your Rotted Quarter Panels
While diagnosing my inoperative rear wiper I was behind my quarter panel. Needless to say I was not happy with what I found.
Both of my quarter panels have large rot holes and have been like that for years. I've always said I'll cut and fold eventually. Now I have some motivation to do that sooner rather than later. Hopefully this will give some people motivation to fix theirs as well.

Hey! thats exactly what i planned on this afternoon. Had to do lots of wiring repairs for the rear brake, park and turn signals.
Got some panels from rustys because I am out of metal to cut and fold. but they will be sealed up for good soon.

I have a hole in my right-side "fishbowl", behind the bumper cap trim. I'm just glad it's not on the left to get in to the electrical! Good luck with it XJLimitedx99.

Careful, there is a couple connectors on that side too. The hole on the side I pictured is large enough to put my fist through so lets in everything.

I did not have that amount of rust but my wiring looked real brittle and some f the wiring were not even connected to the connected. Spent some serious time, and color coded my wiring from front to back. Let me know if you need some part numbers, i was able to find everything i needed (connectors) from Delcity.com

Oh, I know. I've looked though, and hardly any moisture is coming through mine. It's about the size of a quarter and fully blocked by the bumper cap. I keep spraying mine from inside with Fluid Film and hoping it doesn't get bigger for now.

for anyone who installed the Rusty's corner cut panels, did you do any type of silicone seal when you bolted them on? anything to seal them up other than just bolting them on? just cut my corners and am about to install them and was curious if I should seal them up so water doesn't get in
