Hey guys i have a quick opinion question... i got a 1985 jeep cherokee chief as a project and im curious to see what it would be worth. Its got a 5.0 H.O. motor with 4 barrel dominater carb and i have full set up for EFI, upgraded ignition system. with ax15 and novak adapter kit, np231j t case, d30 and d35's with 4.10's original sticker package no frame rust, interior is almost perfect and has 2001 rear speaker bar and 89 OH console. It has american racing rims and 31"s with about 60% tread. Any ideas?

For something like that I need to see pictures.

Somewhere between $100 - $10,000 I'd guess.

5.0 HO as in Ford?

So, don't you think you posted a bit prematurely?

It's really going to depend on how well the swap is done. Just because it's in there and works doesn't mean it's right and worth anything. On the other hand if it's done well with all the right parts and such plan on it being worth about half what it cost to do it. Same way with most aftermarket parts. They don't add as much value as you'd think.

It is all about what it is worth to you and the cash in your pocket. Do you know what you want to do with it and what it might cost?

Market Demand.

Not sure where you get your info but a 4L has 190 ftlbs and the HO motors make anywhere from 195-300 ftlbs stock and since it's on a stand I'm guessing it's had some work done to it.

Agreed unfortunately. And also the subjective side of the value will come into affect too, where its only worth what someone is willing to pay. Me personally, I wouldn't give you $100 for it with a Ford motor in it (wouldn't even make an offer that high if it was a Bowtie lol) but some guys might be willing to spend more to get one with a SBF under the hood then if t was all Jeep still.

Was the 5.0 already in it when you got it or is this your idea? A Ford engine swap from what I have read is 10x more difficult than dropping in a SBC. Nobody makes mounts for the Ford. Personally I would rather have the Ford instead of the chevy, but that's just me.
