What's the fluid look like?
I've had good results by sucking all the old fluid out of the reservoir with a turkey baster, refilling with fresh fluid, and then repeating once or twice more. The fluid wears out and most people neglect it and don't ever think of changing it.

Good point ...what about some times it wont start with turning the ignition so I either have to bump the shifter a few times or if that don't work start it in neutral any idea here?

Neutral start safety switch, on the passenger side of the trans. Take it apart and clean the contacts.
