Hi guys, just joined the forum. I'm 15, and absolutely love Jeeps and off roading. In august, i will be starting auto shop in high school and I had this idea for a project. Start out with an XJ, with a dead or dying 4 liter. pull the 4.0, and put in a 5.2L/318 V8. Ive seen V8 swaps in Xj's before, but they've all been with a chevy small block. I want this to remain mopar at heart. My idea was find a wrecked 90s ram 1500 4x4, and use all the drivetrain components (minus the driveshafts, i understand custom pieces will probably have to be made). Then a modest lift (probably around 3-4 inches) and 31 inch tires. Am I on the right track here?

Seems like an awful waste of a drive line...v8 swap and keeping 31's i mean...a fresh 4.0 could push around 31's for a couple of hundred thousand miles no prob....if you go v8...go big..1 tons and such....v8 with 31's...go zj..they come with em..lol.
Aside from that....welcome to the forum..please take a moment to read the rules, and place a into of yourself...BTW..this should be in chat.

Moved to chat. If this does turn into a build pm
me and i will move it back.
Builds is for ongoing not ideas.
On that note it is hard enough to shove sb in a xj. Only to waste it on 31's. But hey to each there own.
