Pay It Forward
Just curious, and this has probably been discussed before, some of the other forums I get on have a "pay it forward" or "you pay the shipping" section in the market place. Its for small parts you have left over that you are willing to give away. It would be as simple as; if you get something, you find something to give up.
You think something like this would work here?
Or are a lot of XJ enthusiasts too much; hoarders, greedy, cheapskates, to make it work? It does take some level of good faith and honesty to be successful.

I have already done that and at least one person has done that for me.
I mailed extra wheel centers I had to somebody.
To be frank I stole them off the '95 Grand Cherokee we had at the store for deliveries before we junked it.
They did not fit my Ecco's so...... LOL.
Another I sent that stupid little rubber piece on the post of a visor for an XJ to somebody.
Somebody else I mailed the release lever plastic and plastic cover for both sides that release the upper part of the rear seat.
Somebody mailed me the centers that cover the screw holes in the pillar that goes over the door down to the dash.
Pretty sure it was BlueRidgeMark.
Thanks again by the way. MLOL.
People have posted about needing them and such a small item so.......

I have been trying to give stuff away but it seems like no one wants to even pay for shipping. So I gave up trying. Still got a couple random things leftover that will be headed to the trash soon.
hahaha, I understand, cant give it away, no one wants to pay shipping. I have a pile of stock parts and a few little extras. Man I have flares, bumpers, calipers, a Dana 35... yeah no body wants that. But a few new things too.
"giving my junk away" funny, an old Grateful Dead song has a line "one man gathers what another man spills" seems to fit.
now as far that other "junk", we dont need to see that! lol

I have a pair of front seats that came with my 88 that do not fit it and I don't really feel like trying to adapt them. They would have to be for local pickup as shipping would be stupid.

Not sure how '88 seats work but '97 to '01 covers come off pretty easy.
If they just needed the covers and they are in decent usable shape shipping just the covers would cost less.

I put some small parts in my "signature" and offered free if you paid shipping. Not a squeak in return! I have a couple more parts to add (just small items) but like
Ralph77 if I am not doing home projects, I am looking at U Pull it yards for spares for my XJ. I would be glad to grab a small part for someone if I knew what it was.
So in addition to the parts in my signature, I have a spare AC selector panel as well a couple of sun visors too.
I make a 260 mile (1 way) trip a couple times of a month from SE TX to NE LA. I decided to check this last time for U Pull auto locations and found one in Alexandria, LA (had Jeep XJ's)
I was looking for the headlamp trim surrounds, a better turn/park light then I have and a hubcap that was chrome with the black 'JEEP' on it. Have 3 and just want a complete set.
Found everything but the hubcap! I also saw that they had a Comanche there with good manual doors if someone were in need. Wish it had a 4WD driveline...that would make a
fun project! Saw some factory mags but only 3 for $26 each (with the POS tire).....I might go that way one day but already have a spare set of steel wheels in garage.

I have a couple things...
Extended sway bar links for a 4-5" lift, non-disconnect type, these are already promised to someone so I will call them "SOLD".
flag nuts for rear shocks, I bought these expecting mine to break, but they came out, so I dont need them.
I have some other stuff, but I need to verify what they are. I think I have this:
Chrysler 8-1/4" cover gasket
Chrysler 8-1/4" pinion seal
maybe some more... everything is brand new in the package and up for grabs!
'91 rear tail lights, used. and lot of other stock suspension type parts probably too heavy to ship.
looking for overhead console with brackets and harness for a 91, Merry Christmas

Here is what I have that I can remember off the top of my head. All XJ stuff
- Couple shocks
- Front calipers
- Rotors
- Drums
- HD/police package drum shoes (brand new)
- Rubicon Express HD rear end u-bolts for 8.25 (brand new)
- At least 3 sets of factory wheels and tires
- 97+ fender flares
- Inside fender liners
- Factory front skid plate
- Sway bars
- Random engine gaskets and parts
Ill update when I can think of more stuff. I know my shed is full of junk as well as my garage.

I like this idea. I have graciously received about $500 worth of suspension stuff from a couple of members on here... Just people giving out what they no longer need, or will ever need. I plan on doing the same thing in the future...
Thanks to Gearwhine and ridesdirt!!!

Just wanted to say "Thanks!" to 5-Speed for the care package!
It got held up by the local USPS for a few days thanks to our winter wonderland experience in the deep South!
Although the roads have been mostly clear, there are still a couple spots of ice that must have grounded those POS vehicles they drive!
If I am lucky, maybe I will get another package in the future!
