Parts Jeep?
Hey guys! Currently I have a 1997 Cherokee Sport. It has a mile 3 in lift with 31s. I want to upgrade my front and rear bumpers, install an SYE and CV shaft. Upgrade my wheels to have blacked out wheels.
Here is my thought. There is a great looking XJ for sale in my town with the exact setup that I want. Bumpers, tires, and wheels included. My thought is to buy that cherokee, swap the wheels and bumpers and re-sell the cherokee for what I paid.
Would it also be possible to swap out the transfer case and drive of that cherokee into mine? It is a 1998. I think we both have the 8.25 and autos.
Reason for doing this, my cherokee only has 100,000 miles on it and the cherokee I want to grab the stuff off has north of 150k+.
Thanks guys!

What i want to do is take the tires/wheels, bumpers, transfer case and CV shaft off that jeep and put them on mine. Take my tires/wheels, stock bumpers, transfer case and TC drop, rear shaft and put them on the "parts jeep" and resell it for what I bought it for.

In theory it sounds good. You aren't taking the value of your time into account though. That is a lot of man hours to swap all of those parts around. You will also incur quite a few costs in consumables. Gaskets, hoses, etc. Why not buy the second one and sell yours? 50k miles aren't that much, assuming it was well taken care of.

What gaskets would there be with changing bumpers, wheels and a transfer case?

You found a desperate buyer for yours haha. Honestly man, seems like alot of work going through it all, replacing things twice and then having to sell it again. I would just get the stuff that I exactly want. But your theory works too. If you really like the items on it go for it. I would just make sure it runs well. Don't want to be stuck trying to resell something that runs ****ty. It's easy to ask 5k like the seller is just because he's done some mods. Don't get burned man!
