Owner of a 2000 XJ
So now my XJ list has grown by one more but this one is my wifes. We purchased a 2000xj that has minor issues. We picked it up for $1999 due to a price mistake. It's been well maintained with 173,000 miles, little rust, undercarriage was rhino lined, and no major issues. I have had to replace the window washer fluid pumps, lift gate pistons, and currently working on the driver sided passenger door window. Since we had bought this Jeep, we knew that it didn't work, not knowing what was wrong I concluded it needed a new motor. To my surprise the motor was trying to work but somewhere the window was stuck or the motor had power issues. I took the motor apart and did some looking and ended up breaking one of the motor brushes. I was able to fabricate a brush from a broken shop-vac motor. In about 10 minutes I had one fabricated and ready for install. Put the motor back together and now the motor is working but the window wont go up all the way. So today I will be removing the window regulator/track.
Any tips on how I should do this I'm kind of going at this blind but did see some images of what it should look like.

Grats on the XJ!
I have no idea how the windows go together but you'll get some better responses if you post in the OEM Tech section a thread like "Help with window regulator" or something.

I have seen that video already but I was wondering on how to remove that from the door. Thanks though I appreciate any and all help that anyone hands out. As for an update the rear door window regulator is a pain in the butt with moving it this way then that way and back and forth but I did get it out! I found out that last night when I was messing with it the window pivots on a strip of metal that's 3-4 inches in length. when I pulled out the motor to work on it I shifted the window when allowed the metal strip to rotate down. Since I had it out I lubed the whole thing and put it all back in with the metal strip up, not down. Now it's all working like it should.
Now that this is done now it time to work on my 01 Yamaha R1
