Default Opinions on trade offer

Guy wants to trade me a 99 grand cherokee and $1000 for my XJ https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f70/97...ssibly-167080/

His is 2wd with 186k on the clock. 4.0 auto and everything works

I wouldn't even consider it for a minute.... I'll assume you are though because of this thread... in that case tell him make it $2500 and call it square...

I also get 12 MPG and nobody is lining up to make the purchase. I need better MPG. I figure if it's pretty nice I can take the $1000 and buy a beater XJ and fix it up. It will have to be nice though.

The grand Cherokee is not going to get much better gas mileage to even make it worth the trade.

According to the EPA the grand 2wd gets 19 highway. Meh. Maybe not what I want to do.

You could sell your wheels & tires or just tires, get normal 225/235 street tires & alloy rims and it may bring the MPG up a good touch to make it worth it, and possibly make you a few bucks in the meantime. The lift may hurt a hair but I bet taking heavy tires off will help pick it up a bit.
