Is it only me or do other XJ owners agree....
Makes sense. I mean, I'm all for giving a nod to Jeeps of old, say the original ****** jeeps that didn't have doors or roof or much of anything really, but riding around with no overhead protection is a bad idea.

Looks unsafe to me.... But anyways, my 96 is
Metallic tan with tan cloth interior. gets warm but nothing opening the windows canT fix. then I got my new 99, dark red, dark interior and no window flares so I can't open them if it might rain. damn it gets hot in that one! I saw a guy who made a sunroof on his xj. shut the shade when parked, open the whole thing when moving. but I'm guessing that would be hard to fab without leaks and crap. I'm not
Much on chopping metal either. What you chop off, you don't get back.

Like BIMMER 2000 said......Try it with no carpet, you want hot...I bet you could cook on the floor of my XJ in the summer time. I don't even turn the heat on in the winter.

He is'nt wheeling it that way, its in a transitional period (cage coming) and he does'nt drive it on the street its an OHV at this point. I garantee when he gets it done it'll be safer than a full body XJ. I just thought the pre cage chop pic was a funny reply to a ventilation problem. Did'nt expect ya all to take it other than as the joke it was meant to be. I believe the flex pic with no top was kind of a test of the uni-body bracing previousely done from what I gather from his build thread.

there is some pretty sweet stuff from lowes and home depot, it duct insulation, works jsut like dinomat and helps with the heat and noise. comes in 15' rolls and costs like $20. its a lot cheaper than dinomat too
