Only in Hawaii 2001 XJ CRUSHED
So one of my loves was towed while I was out of town last month, a 2001 5-speed with around 65,000 miles. She ran like she was brand new, never missed a beat.
I took the time today to track it down so I could go pay some outrageous fee (most places in Hawaii start out at $250-350 just for the tow if they collect your vehicle, then it's anything from $175-300/day) to get it back. Well, I found it. Apparently they sent me a letter two weeks ago saying it was going up for auction if I didn't come get it, well I never got said letter, I doubt they sent it.
She went up for auction and no one bought it so they put it through a car compactor and told me I'm SOL. I called the police and the worthless buggers--they ticketed it for being abandoned because it was parked outside my house fence in LEGAL street parking--told me it's not their problem and to get a lawyer and take the tow place to court.
Now I have to go see if I can't find a lawyer to sue the pants off someone so I can get a fat payout. KBB puts my jeep at $5300 in pristine condition, and this one was exemplary. I only paid $2,000 for it so I'm hoping to make some money but I'm also furious, I was planning to swap it into a 4WD next month...
I'm sure any of you can imagine the rage I'm in, having a pristine condition Jeep essentially stolen from you and crushed and then to be told "kick rocks" when you tracked it down.
Two nights ago, some hooligan stole my bike out of my shed. I'm going for a walk now and if I see him, he's about to get double rage for stealing my bike and the jeep anger will come out through him as well. I have a very bad temper and they set it off very nicely. Lucky him my brass knuckles are too heavy to carry in my boardshorts. Unlucky for him I have a pair of polycarbonate knuckles that aren't too heavy as a daily carry

Yeah haha, lets just say the tow place is lucky my '97 has DW that I'm chasing down right now or there's a possibility that myself, my jeep and my 12 gauge would be paying them a visit.
